OpenCyber Number (OCN)

The OpenCyber Number (OCN) is your permanent, on-chain digital identity within the OpenCyber ecosystem. It functions as a universal account and is designed for simplicity with a numeric format similar to a phone number. Beyond identification, every OCN is also a self-sovereign smart crypto wallet that you fully control.

How do I create an OCN?

Anyone with an EOA wallet (e.g., MetaMask) can create an OCN.

Is creating an OCN free?

Yes, creating an OCN is free. However, to prevent spam, you need to activate it. After an OCN is created on-chain, a deposit of at least 10 USDT or 10 USDC to this OCN account is required via xlight bridge to activate it. If an OCN is not activated within 3 days, the reserved OCN can be created by other users.

What is the format of an OCN?

An OCN is an 11-digit number, currently consisting of the '125' prefix followed by 8 digits.

Can I choose my OCN?

No. OCNs are randomly generated by a smart contract onchain upon creation to ensure fairness.
